Class II games have been essential to the growth of tribal gaming in the U.S. and, with 40,000 such machines in operation around the U.S., they remain an essential part of the gaming landscape. In recent years, the federal government, through the National Indian Gaming Commission, has worked to develop new Minimum Internal Control Standards for Class II games, the implementation of which has been set back to later this year. This session will examine the continued importance of Class II to tribal gaming, the potential impact of the new rules on this sector and the impact of Class II gaming technology on non-tribal markets both inside and outside the U.S.
